What will benefit:
• Websites using beGadgets
• Websites using Bookeasy’s legacy booking engine
• Tourism Centres using the Gadget Menu from within their Bookeasy Staff Console (hover over the Main Menu)
• Tourism Centres using the legacy Tour Search feature from within their Bookeasy Staff Console *
• Websites powered by the direct API
• Clients using Packages
• All Tour Manager clients
* Note: Although the internal legacy Tour Search will be positively affected, testing has revealed that this element will not be as greatly enhanced as others. Investigations have identified an additional area within the behind-the-scenes engine of the internal staff Tour Search that requires reconfiguration. This development has been commissioned for completion and should be applied in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
What you need to do:
Let your associated Operators know. Share with them the great news and ensure this sector of the industry is a concentrated focus of your region.
Additional points worth noting:
1. If a Tour Operator uses the ‘one rate’ functionality in ‘Bookeasy Tours’ and ‘Tour Manager’, the product could only be booked if actual rate types were applied to the Tour. In line with the Tour Speed enhancements, if an operator using the tour has one rate option, these products will now display to be booked even if no rate types are created. The operator MUST still have availability though.
2. Operators who had not activated their ‘rate and availability year’ (by going to the availability calendar and pressing save), would appear through the beGadgets as ‘sorry no results are available for this request’, or ‘highlighted with red crosses’ via the legacy booking engine, as unavailable. The Tour Speed enhancements will now ensure the tours display in some capacity rather than indicating no matching results. This means that users can now see the product at a minimum and make further enquires to make the booking if they wish. Operators will still need to activate the future year to ensure that the tour is bookable (they must click ‘save’ within the availability calendar to do so).
